Meet Tammy Donroe Inman
I'm a Boston-area author, photographer, freelance writer, trained chef, and cooking instructor. I write timeless cookbooks and digital zines that help inspire and educate home cooks about the value of baking with fresh, seasonal ingredients. New England Brunch is my latest cookbook released this year to follow up on my award-winning cookbook, New England Desserts. I also wrote Wintersweet: Seasonal Desserts to Warm the Home, which is sold out but will soon be available as a series of digital zines.
A graduate of Tufts University and the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, I got my start in the test kitchen of Cook's Illustrated magazine and behind the scenes of the PBS television show America's Test Kitchen. After that, I worked as an editor for Boston magazine, a correspondent for the Boston Globe, and freelance writer for dozens of print and online publications, including Fine Cooking, Yankee Magazine, and my long-running blog, Food on the Food. My three cookbooks have received praise from critics at USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publisher's Weekly, Library Journal, and the Kitchn. I've also been interviewed by NPR's All Things Considered, Chronicle, and CBS Evening News for my unique perspective on food.
When I'm not writing or giving talks at local libraries, I can often be found reading in my roof garden, roller skating at the park, wrangling my two high-maintenance cats, or moonlighting as a cheesemonger at Formaggio Kitchen in Boston.
