About the Author

Hi there. I'm a Boston-area author, photographer, chef, baker, and cooking instructor. I've written four books and photographed two, including my latest, New England Brunch, and my previous award-winning New England Desserts. I also wrote the critically acclaimed cookbook, Wintersweet: Seasonal Desserts to Warm the Home. While print copies are sold out, the book will soon be rereleased as a series of digital zines.
During culinary school, I got my start in the test kitchen of Cook's Illustrated magazine and the PBS television show America's Test Kitchen. After that, I worked as an editor for Boston magazine and wrote for the Boston Globe, Fine Cooking, Yankee Magazine, Cape Cod Life, Serious Eats, and my long-running blog, Food on the Food. My cookbooks have received praise from critics at USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publisher's Weekly, Library Journal, and the Kitchn. I've also been interviewed by NPR's All Things Considered, Chronicle, and CBS Evening News for my unique perspective on food.
When I'm not writing or giving talks at local libraries, I can be found roller skating, mushroom-hunting, or moonlighting as a cheesemonger at Formaggio Kitchen in Boston's South End. Sign up for my free quarterly newsletter here!
